WHO WE ARE

Demaus & Marsden Ltd started in 2020, when Antony and Rob chose to leave their engineering jobs behind and start a business together.

Design engineers by trade, they have a combined 20 years of professional experience across a range of roles and industries. Outside of this, both are keen craftsmen and tinkerers, having worked on numerous furniture projects, campervan self-builds and property renovations.

Changing circumstances for both meant that after 4 years, Antony and Rob went their separate ways. Antony now continues the business from North Herefordshire.

  • Antony Demaus

Antony grew up building things on his parents farm in rural Herefordshire before moving to London to study Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London. He moved to Bristol after graduating and has worked at several renowned technology companies and design consultancies. Frustrated by too much time staring at a screen (and out the window!), Antony quit his job to cycle the length of North America. On his return he built a campervan for a friend and an idea was born. Other than cycling and carpentry, he is a keen windsurfer and surfer and can often be found shivering on windswept beaches around the South West.

  • Rob Marsden

Originally from a glass-making town in the North West, Rob moved to the Midlands to study Product Design & Manufacture at Loughborough University. He then worked as a design engineer at a number of household consumer goods and technology companies. He brings a keen eye for detail and a love of natural timber and joinery. Outside of the workshop, he enjoys cycling, camping, photography and BBC 6Music

WHAT WE DO

Demaus & Marsden are happiest working with timber in all its forms from large to small and creating beautiful spaces that enrich our clients lives.

WHERE WE ARE

The Demaus & Marsden workshop is nestled round the back of a C15th farmstead in rural north Herefordshire.

We love working local but am happy to deliver projects all over the south (ish) of the UK. If in doubt, just ask!
